Cletous Mazarura has been appointed as the assistant general manager at The Plettenberg on the Garden Route.
Mazarura began his career in the 5-star hotel industry at the Sheraton Hotel in Harare. This led him to Planet Baobab Lodge in Botswana, and on to South Africa where he notched up more experience at Zebula Golf Estate & Spa and Waterberg Lodge in Limpopo, as well as Tsala Treetop Lodge.
Armed with 18 years of hotel industry experience, he is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of The Plettenberg hotel, where his key responsibilities include managing guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and security. His greatest strengths lie in his adaptability, inspirational leadership, and commitment to excellence.
Mazarura says he is dedicated to ensuring the hotel consistently exceeds guest expectations and he values the creative freedom his role affords him, allowing him to find innovative solutions to problem solving and leading his team by example. ‘The best part of my job is creating unforgettable memories for our guests, but also making a positive impact on our staff’, he says.
