Get the family in the car, pack cozzies and beach towels, and head off for the long Easter weekend (and make use of the spate of the April and May public holidays in between).
Being Sun International’s only beachfront resort means there is an abundance of water-based activities at the Wild Coast Sun – from rides at the Wild Waves Water Park to the hotel swimming pools – as well as on and in the Mtamvuna River. This is the ideal destination for all-round family fun in the sun. Even winter on the South Coast is characterised by mild temperatures, sunny skies, and minimal rainfall.
Easter Kids Disco Bash on Saturday, 19 April 2025
The Easter weekend will thrill younger guests with an Easter Kids Disco Bash on Saturday, 19 April 2025. It will be a fun-filled afternoon of games, music, dancing, and awesome prizes, from 15h00 to 18h00 at Squawkers Cove. It will be open to children 12 and under. Entry is free but there’s limited space so first come, first served.
Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, 20 April 2025
A whopping 2 500 Easter eggs will be hidden around the resort for the great hunt on Sunday. It’s for children in the same age group as the disco, so hopefully they will still have energy after their Saturday party! The hunt is from 12h00 to 13h00 so let them sleep late. There will be six Golden Eggs and anyone lucky enough to find one of those will win a share of R1 500 in Magic Company vouchers.
André The Hilarious Hypnotist from Friday, 18 to Monday, 21 April
The whole family can enjoy a show with André The Hilarious Hypnotist – he will be in the house for the whole Easter weekend, from Friday, 18 to Monday, 21 April at the Tropical Nites Theatre. This show is a perfect blend of comedy and hypnosis, where audience members become part of the spectacle. Prepare for hilarious antics, mind-bending tricks, and spontaneous moments that will leave you amazed and in stitches.
Tickets range between R100 and R150 and are available via Webtickets.
Beach games all weekend
In the lead-up to the full-scale events and activities of the Easter weekend, a range of Beach Games will be introduced from Friday, 28 March and run all the way through to Monday, 21 April. Join the action with Cell C, Fanta, Coca-Cola, and Bon Aqua every day from 11h00 to 15h00.
Activities include: limbo challenge, beach soccer, beach volleyball, hula hoops showdown and tug of war.
Whether you’re a competitive spirit or just looking for some fun in the sun, there’s something for everyone. Bring your family, friends, and a good sense of adventure as you enjoy these exciting beachside challenges.
Wild Coast Sun is not only about the high days and holidays – there is so much for guests and visitors to do all year round.
Take a guided tour on the river on board a double-decker boat, or if you don’t mind getting your hair wet, make a splash at the Wild Waves Water Park. Other water-based activities include stand-up paddle boarding or sit-down paddle boating, canoeing, kayaking, or an eco-adventure on a speedboat to explore the unspoilt coastline of the river that forms the border between KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape provinces. For a relaxing day on dry land that is river-adjacent, fishermen can cast out their lines in the hopes of reeling in bronze bream, rock cod, and other fish. Guests can rent rods or are welcome to bring their own.
When all the fun’s been done, unwind with a cocktail at the Riverside Aqua Sports Beach Bar and tuck into burgers, boerewors rolls, hot dogs, and bacon and eggs rolls. There’s even a “bring and braai” facility for families and friends to chill.
Over at the Wild Waves Water Park, you’ll find rides and pools for adults, children and toddlers. From adrenalin junkies to moderate thrill seekers, and those that like to gently cruise down the Lazy River or lounge around with a book (massages are even an option) – there really is something for everyone. For those not staying at the hotel, day tickets are available.
Not into the water vibes? We’ve got you, fam. The Aloha Village inside the resort offers ten pin bowling and arcade games, golf enthusiasts can tee off at the picturesque championship course, or head indoors meet Lady Luck at the gaming tables.
Need a bit more adrenaline? Choose from three quad biking tours into the 750 hectares of lush indigenous bush around the resort. Whether you have ridden a quad bike before or have zero experience, the tours cater for the proficient as well as beginners. Knowledgeable tour guides provide the group with a quick lesson before you head out.
When you’re all worn out by the excitement, discover the variety of flavours and cuisine at Wild Coast Sun’s restaurants and bars. You can grab a quick bite to eat at a fast food store or indulge in a meal with an Indian Ocean backdrop at the various sit-down restaurants, suited for every taste and occasion.
