The Exhibition and Events Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Association of Korean Exhibition Industry (AKEI), marking a significant milestone in fostering international collaboration within the exhibition sector. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing industry standards and creating new opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Under the agreement, EXSA and AKEI will work together to promote best practices, raise professional standards, and strengthen connections between exhibition professionals in Korea and Southern Africa.
“This collaboration affirms our belief that we are part of a global community,” said Sibusiso Mncwabe, Chairperson of EXSA. “It opens doors for knowledge exchange and new pathways for cooperation. Our members will gain access to Korean enterprises, unlocking new markets and forming valuable partnerships.”
Sohn Soo-Deuk, President of AKEI, echoed this sentiment: “AKEI is excited to join forces with EXSA to promote cooperation and shared success among exhibition practitioners. Korea’s exhibition industry plays a vital role in driving exports, supporting related sectors, and generating employment. Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen infrastructure, create opportunities for SMEs, and enhance Korea’s global standing.”
Korea’s exhibition sector has earned international recognition through initiatives such as the Exhibition Industry Development Act, certification programs, and advancements in digital transformation and global outreach. These efforts have established a strong foundation for deeper engagement with EXSA’s membership.
The MOU outlines collaboration in professional development, sharing market intelligence and best practices, and supporting Korean service providers and organizers in accessing new international opportunities.
