There is nothing better than arriving in the country and being greeted by a welcoming face. At Granny Mouse Country House and Spa, front office manager, Lauren Huckle and her team do so with inordinate enthusiasm.
Lauren was born in Johannesburg and is no stranger to travel having lived in Botswana, Ghana, Cape Town and now the KwaZulu Natal Midlands; combine this with Lauren’s Degree from the International Hotel School and you have a formula for excellence.
Lauren started at Granny Mouse Country House and Spa in 2011 and initially formed part of owner, Gill Bowmaker’s strategic team during the relaunch and refurbishment which included 12 exquisite new suites.
Today, Lauren oversees a team of four receptionists and reservationists while effectively running the day-to-day of the department. Despite being only 26 years old, Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality industry having worked on both land and at sea with Singita Lebombo as a back of house anchor and financial controller, Singita Sweni as front of house and Seabourn Odyssey as a stewardess. “My main focus is on customer satisfaction and going that extra mile to make a guest’s experience the best it can be,” imparts Lauren.
In her spare time, Lauren enjoys wildlife photography, reading and birding as an avid wildlife and birding enthusiast. Lauren’s love for birds equally centres on her African Grey parrot, Mango who is a part of her everyday existence both in a cage in her office and in her spare time at home whilst relaxing.
“Lauren started with us during the relaunch of Granny Mouse, the pinnacle point of our evolution, and is very much part of the Granny Mouse family,” concludes Gill Bowmaker, owner of Granny Mouse.
