Now one of the greenest hotels in Pretoria, Leriba Hotel and Spa, Centurion is constantly striving towards new sustainable and responsible business practices.
In light of this, the hotel is proudly embarking on a new drive that empowers their own gardeners to optimise opportunities and learn simple business principles. In short, transforming them into entrepreneurs of the future.
Leriba has recently increased its herb varieties in their gardens to more than 10 times the amount one could previously find, when wandering around this award-winning property.
These herbs are planted, nurtured and maintained by the gardeners and are now being sold by them to the two a la carte restaurants (Hemingway’s and Chapters) directly.
Herbs such as rosemary, oregano, basil, mint, and different variants of chillies, turmeric, watercress and a whole lot more are now available to the restaurants, as fresh as they get.
As a proud Gold Green Heritage member and Lilizela-Imvelo Award Winner for Responsible Tourism, this initiative is directly in line with the green ethos that Leriba constantly aspires to. Being Fair Trade accredited as well, this drive speaks of the constant commitment of the staff, management and suppliers of the Leriba Group to conduct business responsibly and sustainably.
