UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has announced it will be holding its Asia-Pacific Conference in Melbourne, Australia next year. This will be the first UFI event to be held in Australia.
The Asia-Pacific Conference is one of the exhibition industry’s most important gatherings for learning and networking in the region. It is a two-day event packed with educational and networking opportunities, and a number of co-located meetings such the UFI Marketing Committee or Association Committee meetings.
The conference will be held the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre and will be supported by the Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia and the Melbourne Convention Burea.
The dates will be confirmed in the coming weeks, but the event is usually held in late February or early March. It typically attracts 250 to 300 delegates from leading event organisers and venues across Asia. UFI is anticipating that 2021 will attract a similar turnout.

Kai Hattendorf, UFI’s CEO, stated, “The entire UFI community is excited to bring our annual Asia-Pacific conference to Australia and we are particularly pleased that MCEC will be our host in 2021. MCEC was expanded and improved in 2018 and now with 39,000 m2 of exhibition space, MCEC is the largest exhibition venue in Australia. UFI also has a long history of a strong working relationship with EEAA and we look forward to working closely with the association to put on a successful conference in 2021.”
