Expovent Evolutions South Africa shone in its role as the preferred supplier of furniture to the 2012 Africa Aerospace & Defence Expo (AAD 2102). The exhibition, which filled seven hangars at the Air Force Base in Waterkloof from 19 to 23 September, is the largest of its kind on the African continent.
Operating determinedly to deliver on time for the opening of the show, the Expovent crew overcame numerous challenges including the heavy rain, strong winds and flooding that prevailed. Our crew acted with great diligence during the build up and breakdown. Working long hours and being on site well after midnight on many days posed no match for them. We successfully dispatched 13 8 ton truck loads of furniture during the seven day build up period, and managed to achieve a complete strike within the 48 hours allocated, says Adrian McKnight, MD of Expovent.
Bringing its creative team to the fore, Expovent Evolutions made use of the services of its sister company, Majestic Expressions in Furniture to custom make a variety of furniture items. These included signature red tub chairs for the Russian hospitality chalets and a range of military-themed bus shelters. Expovent also created a stylish, comfortable lounge and office area for the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula and her guests, using various items from its specialty and prestige ranges.
