3D Group denies move into organiser arena | The Planner

The 3D Group, one of Africa’s longest-standing and largest turnkey suppliers to the exhibitions industry, has strongly denied rumours that it has extended its business to include exhibitions organisation.

Head officed in Linbro Business Park in Johannesburg, the group comprises nine specialist disciplines that work in harmony to provide a professional, turnkey exhibition experience for exhibition organisers and exhibitor companies alike.

Managing director, John Kullmann, published a concise and outright denial of the rumour that the group had entered the exhibitions organisation industry by taking on exhibition organiser responsibilities for Sports Expo.

He said this was not true, and that the fact that the rumour was persisting was upsetting existing clients (exhibition organisers) and damaging the 3D business.

“The 3D Group is in no way involved in the organising of exhibitions, period,” he wrote in the latest edition of EXSA’s monthly newsletter. “Whether this be wholly or by way of ‘silent partner’ (status), it is totally unfounded. We are infrastructure suppliers to the industry: this is our focus and we have no intention of going into competition with our organiser clients. If anyone can find any evidence to the contrary, I will resign from my position at 3D Design and leave this industry completely.”

The 3D Group specialist services are:

3D Design, one of the largest exhibition stand design and construction companies on the continent. It specialises in custom modular (Octanorm) and custom (wood) exhibition stands, and is often the recipient of ‘best stand’ awards for stand design and construction excellence.
3D Shell excels at providing an exhibition infrastructure service company to exhibition and event organisers and most recently launched EaziXpo, an online exhibitor and services management system.
3D Branding Solutions carries the Octanorm ‘Vario’ range of portable display products. There’s also a leading edge audio, visual and IT hire business, which provides equipment and the manpower to install it and ensure it works seamlessly.
3D Furniture Hire started business over 15 years ago with 3 tables and 6 chairs. Today, it stocks over 8 000 items including fridges, coffee machines, couches, chairs, barstools and brochure holders in its 1 000m2 warehouse.
3D Events assists clients with those activities they typically schedule to take place at the exhibitions in which they participate.
• Switched-On-Electrical supplies lighting solutions to not only the 3D Group, but also to a host of other exhibition stand builders and event companies. It stocks over 3 000 fittings from spotlights, hanging lights, colour changing LED lights to chandeliers and specialised lighting.
• State-of-the-art computerised board cutting machines and a 100m2 spray booth provide clients with access to 3D’s customisation expertise for bespoke exhibition stands, shop-fitting, and custom made point of sale display units.
• There’s also a team of graphic designers and a printing plant capable of printing large scale graphics for use on stands, as well as in smaller formats to complement the overall exhibition visitor experience.
