The Boardwalk Hotel’s upmarket cigar lounge, Tshawe Bar, has ramped-up its menu with diverse and exciting new offerings that will excite the taste-buds of guests. The new dishes have a contemporary, fresh and social feel, encouraging laid-back sharing, dipping and tasting.
The refreshed menu also includes enticing suggestions for pairing each dish with a suitable drink to complement the flavours.
“Share our classic hot and spicy Buffalo wings with blue cheese dipping sauce, carrot and celery sticks, paired with a cool, crisp Miller Genuine Draft, or savour chicken Tandoori skewers with roti on your own, paired with an ice cold Carling Black Label. Its sweet, fruity smell with low bitterness will complement the spicy chicken. The choice is yours,” says Megan Capoto, HLM Marketing Coordinator at The Boardwalk.
Other mouthwatering dishes in the Tshawe cast include grilled haloumi and roasted peppers on focaccia with humus, olives and pesto, ideally paired with Peroni Nastro Azzuro, a classy beer with a malty/biscuit taste and complex crisp bitterness that will complement the spices and aroma of the dish.
There is also a nachos dish, with lime and chilli beef fillet topped with melted cheddar, guacamole and tomato salsa. This is well-paired with Castle Lite which boasts a crispy bitterness with extra cold refreshment to contrast the chilli. The crispy fried falafel rolled in a flat bread, served with salad tzadziki and harissa mayonnaise goes well with Hansa Pilsner which has a soft crisp taste that will balance the oily/creamy taste of the mayonnaise.
The cocktail menu has also been revived, with an extensive array of new choices exclusive to Tshawe Bar. Some of the new inspired creations include Bubbly Bellini, an Asian inspired lemongrass infused vodka, with litchis, cranberry juice, lemon juice, and sparkling wine; Rooibos Punch, a refreshing drink comprising Drambuie, Rooibos tea, and ginger ale, and an Italian Kiss, an indulgent cocktail made from Cape Velvet, Frangelico, Galliano.
