Cape Grace has been awarded the best five star hotel, in the first ever, Lilizela Tourism Award launched at INDABA 2013, by the Minister of Tourism, Mr Marthinus van Schalkwyk.
The Lilizela Tourism Awards honour and celebrate those who make a remarkable impact on tourism in South Africa. The award is the official new Travel and Tourism Accolade within South Africa – its main goal to recognise, celebrate and praise the excellent work of establishments within the Tourism industry.
Minister van Schalkwyk greeted attending guests at the official awards ceremony held on 12 September 2013 in Johannesburg by generously acknowledging the hospitality industry for its vital role played in the job creation of South Africa.
“It is a great honour to be recognized for our contribution made to South Africa’s Tourism drive. We aim to continue to promote the unique aspects of what Cape Town and South Africa so wonderfully embodies. To set us apart in hospitality excellence, a number of sustainability projects are lined up for 2014 which will assist us in furthering our responsibility towards SA Tourism Initiatives” says Philma Gomes, Director of Sales and Marketing, Cape Grace.
