Greening is no longer a buzz word in the MICE industry. Many corporate companies are insisting that their events are green. SA Conference takes a looks what you can do to ensure that your stand is green.
- Choose a long-lasting modular stand
- Re-use any bespoke elements
- Ensure materials chosen are being re-used from elsewhere, and/or there are plans to re-use/recycle them after the stand is no longer needed
- Ensure that manufacture of the materials is not energy intensive, nor does it create harmful by-products
- Ensure that the stand is lightweight and can be flat packed to ensure that transport related to the stand has minimal impact on the environment.
- Use ‘green’ water-based paints.
- Install low-wattage lighting or LED energy efficient lighting.
- Don’t produce printed marketing materials
- If giving gifts, ensure that they eco-friendly
- Promote your green credentials and spread the word about sustainability.
