The owners and team at Valley Lodge & Spa in Magaliesburg welcome Nelson Rodrigues as General Manager.
Nelson is a true hospitality professional, who started his first job in this vibrant trade as a waiter at the world-renowned Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town, where he eventually earned his stripes as Resident Manager.
During the past 22 years, he has managed the Mount Grace Country Hotel in Magaliesburg, was part of the opening team at The Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg, worked for the City Lodge and Best Westen groups, and was GM at the multi-award-winning Bushmanskloof in the Cederburg.
Says Nelson: “I have enjoyed every moment spent in this industry and was in fact planning to move to Africa with my family when the owners of Valley Lodge & Spa approached me to join the hotel.
“I’m thrilled to have joined Valley Lodge & Spa and already feel passionate about this luxury property that has successfully evolved over the years from being a country house establishment to becoming a luxury hotel and spa offering top-of-the-range accommodation, hospitality, conferencing and special events facilities as well as a world-class spa.

Nelson embraces new trends in hospitality, including the use of social media, blogs, websites and marketing tools such as Trip Advisor, which allows hoteliers to communicate directly with their current and potential customers.
