Stop Hunger Now Mandela Day aims to pack in excess of 500 000 meals with over 5 000 employees from various corporates.
How it works
- The money that companies pay for the teams that they enter pays for the dry product and ingredients which make up the Stop Hunger Now meal packages.
- The employees then come through on the day (18 July 2014) and assist to pack these meal packages – thereby giving their 67-minutes for Madiba.
Stop Hunger Now meals are nutritiously sound. Every dehydrated rice/soy meal is fortified with 21 essential vitamins and nutrients.ย These meal packages have a shelf life of more than a year and are distributed to crรจches and early development centres.ย By donating these meal packages to them they in turn are able to save money towards essential items such as first aid kits, flushing toilets, fire extinguishers etc. for their institution.
Numerous sponsors (including the Sandton Convention Centre) have come to the party and have given us their time, product, service or venue for free.
How you can get involved
- If you are aware of any companies that are looking for something to do for their 67-minutes on 18 July, please let Irene Hattingh (details below) know.
