The Durban ICC has named Nicolette Elia-Beissel, current operations director, as acting chief executive officer to ensure a smooth transition, and to lead the Durban ICC’s executive team while the board considers candidates to take on the position permanently.
The Durban ICC board announced the resignation of Julie-May Ellingson as chief executive officer earlier in the week. She spent more than three years heading up the organisation. Ellingson is expected to remain chief until the middle of August.
Elia-Beissel holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Diploma in graphic design in advertising. Her passion for the exhibition industry stems back14 years and she has experience project-managing various shows and pavilions, both locally and internationally. She is passionate about business events and has had the privilege of contributing to the industry as a board member of various industry associations such as SATSA and EXSA.
