With all the best planning over a protracted period of time, arranging events alongside a well-established exhibition does not always pan out as intended.
All the I’s were dotted and all the T’s were crossed, over a seriously long period of time, yet due to totally unforeseen circumstances by any of the prime stakeholders- to coin a phrase ‘the wheels almost fell off’.
It takes an astute and professional exhibition organising company to take the ‘flak’ and indeed much time and finances to not only ‘make good’ but to also add value in raising standards going forward.
This was the scenario played out between the MICE Academy and Specialised Exhibitions with the ultimate outcome being a most positive and proactive stance which can only improve relationships for all parties concerned.
There were disappointments along the way yet the Academy takes note that the industry’s member association is also attempting improved standards by convening an extraordinary AGM in order to revise their Code of Conduct and member expectations as required by the industry.
The cherry on the top was that Specialised Exhibitions distributed a letter to all the MICE Academy attendees which was appropriately worded ensuring that Specialised’s sub-contractors would be briefed as to future expectations accordingly.
The real outcome was a win-win-win situation and in particular raising standards through improved and effective communications.
Well done Specialised Exhibitions!
