Cade Larken Heinrich du Preez arrives at Legend Golf Safari Resort to be welcomed infront of new clubhouse by Pete Richardson

Legend’s Extreme Summer Showcase kicked off last week,  not only with a spectacular golf day on their world-renowned 18-hole Signature golf course, but also with a potential world record!

Heinrich du Preez and Cade Larkan left Hartebeespoort Dam at 21h30 on Wednesday, 26 Nov with a golf cart and drove all the way to Legend Golf & Safari Resort in Limpopo to arrive the next day at 10h30.

Although this is not an official world record yet, it is a very extreme thing to do and fits in perfectly with all the extreme activities Legend offers. First there was the Extreme 19th, the world’s longest and highest Par 3, then the Signature Golf Course, designed by 18 of the world’s finest players. The 10-hole Tribute Course was added, paying homage to some of the greatest par 3s in the world

Now they have opened their new extreme clubhouse – the five organically shaped clubhouse buildings radiate from a central space, the feel is of an open, spacious, very African complex with modern interiors and facilities. Spacious changing rooms, a unique members’ lounge and rooftop, a large restaurant and more intimate private dining area all combine to create more than just a clubhouse. And of course being on the edge of the 22,000 hectare Big 5 Entabeni Safari Conservancy there has to be a boma – the most traditional of African structures.

The first day of the showcase set a tone of excitement, with lots of fun things to do on. The golfcourse entertained the players, in an American Scramble format, including unusual holes, especially no 7 with 9 pins. Prizes were won and the prize giving done by Dan Nicol included a ballet performance. The first plated dinner served in the Clubhouse was tantalizing and guests enjoyed the live entertainment till late.

If you have not booked you ticket yet to be part of the Legend Extreme Summer Showcase, you do still have time. You can enjoy the day or stay overnight with all your activities and meals included for only R1500pp.
