SAB appoints new General Manager | The Planner

SAB World of Beer has appointed a new general manager – Tony Rubin as of November 2014.

Rubin moves to SAB with excess of fourty years of hospitality industry experience in the food and beverage sector, business development and in operations and planning.  Prior to his move to SAB, Rubin was the managing director of Maropeng, the official visitor centre of the Cradle of Humankind.

With Rubin at the helm, Maropeng achieved numerous accolades including “Top Visitor Attraction SA” in the SA Tourism Welcome Awards and “Top Attraction in Gauteng” in the Lilizela Awards. The Maropeng Conference Centre was also recognised as the “Top Conference Centre in the 4-Star Category in South Africa”.

Rubin also served The Southern Sun Group for 30 years and in this time was given the CEO’s award for Excellence in People Management.
