The Wild West Country Fest | The Planner

wild westThis event will take place at Silverstar from next 30 April over the long weekend. Guests will be transported into the era of the late 1800’s in the West Rand. Tickets cost R100 and include the first drink and the beer glass.

Visitors to the Wild West Country Fest will be taken back in time to the 1880’s and 1890’s where the West Rand was synonymous with mining camps and prospectors from as far afield as Cornwell, Canada, Australasia and Holland. Entertainment took place in music halls, smoky saloons and gambling dens where the cancan and honky-tonk were all a part of the day to day lifestyle.

No Wild West town would be complete without appropriate selection of wines, brandy’s, whiskeys, and mampoer not to mention the comprehensive range of alternate food offerings such as pickles, chutneys, cheeses, breads and biltong.

For the sweet tooth, the koeksisters, jams and canned fruits will tantalise their taste buds. For those who enjoy getting “a little hot under the collar”, the various selections of chilli brands will certainly test their limits.
