Askari Game Lodge & Spa received two gold and one silver award at the eighth annual West Rand Tourism Awards held on 29 June 2015.

This annual award programme is aimed at promoting quality products and facilities that demonstrate high service standards, which will ultimately transform the West Rand into an internationally acclaimed tourist destination.

“We are so proud of the awards which are a testament to the dedication of our staff and management to be the best Big 5 game lodge in the West Rand and Gauteng area,” says Graham Shipway, general manager at Askari Game Lodge & Spa.

Askari Lodge won awards in the following categories:

Askari Lodge is hugely popular with local and international guests for its Big 5 weddings and spectacular photo opportunities with the two elephants. Their conference facilities cater for up to 150 guests, while exciting teambuilding options such as Bush Survival Skills and “Ready. Steady. Potjie(kos)” take conferencing to the next level.

“We are currently expanding our Spa facilities and increasing the focus on romantic getaways for couples. We hope to pick up even more awards at next year’s event when our new Spa are ready,” adds Shipway.
