Event management courses abound: Part 2 | The Planner

The MICE Academy commenced training courses from a professionally well-designed format based on knowledge and experience a number of years ago.

Encouragingly many of the innovative tasks are used and continue to be emulated to this day.

With this background in mind – the budding student, attendee, participant, delegate et al to any of these event management initiatives as well as the ‘leaders’ undertaking these courses should heed the pointers to successful event course outcomes:

Hot tip:

  • Corporate, association and independent planning requirements are three different disciplines which cannot be satisfied within the same course;
  • No well-planned post monitoring per participant means no real proof of course success;

Until such time as real research provides the statistics of the amount of course participants that have been successfully absorbed into the meeting industry – education, training and learning event management in all its guises and comprehensive good intentions, amount to no more than a waste of money.
