Event management courses abound: Part 2 | The Planner

The MICE Academy commenced training courses from a professionally well-designed format based on knowledge and experience a number of years ago.

Encouragingly many of the innovative tasks are used and continue to be emulated to this day.

With this background in mind – the budding student, attendee, participant, delegate et al to any of these event management initiatives as well as the β€˜leaders’ undertaking these courses should heed the pointers to successful event course outcomes:

Hot tip:

  • Corporate, association and independent planning requirements are three different disciplines which cannot be satisfied within the same course;
  • No well-planned post monitoring per participant means no real proof of course success;

Until such time as real research provides the statistics of the amount of course participants that have been successfully absorbed into the meeting industry – education, training and learning event management in all its guises and comprehensive good intentions, amount to no more than a waste of money.
