Ibtm world answers the demands of new-generation meeting planners | The Planner

imagesIbtm world (www.ibtmworld.com) will end the year showing the international meetings industry the future through ibtm knowledge sessions and cutting edge technology suppliers, all of which will challenge the existing design of events and provide new and unique solutions to the evolving landscape of meeting design.

Dr. Rob Davidson, Managing Director, MICE Knowledge and ibtm world Industry Analyst said, β€œIn 2015, we are seeing radical qualitative changes in the ways in which meetings are designed, and forward-looking venues are adapting their offer to meet the evolving demands of new-generation meeting planners and attendees. In the past 12 months, there has been a huge move towards designing meetings to be much more multisensory and immersive than ever before.”

More than 1,000 industry professionals have already pre-booked their places to attend ibtm knowledge sessions taking place in the new ACS Knowledge Village which for the first time will be located on the show floor. Over 80 ibtm knowledge sessions confirmed to take place. More than 50 technology suppliers will showcase their new products and services in the Technology and Services Zone

Christoph Raudonat, who will present β€˜Connections, Commitment and Communication for Associations’ and β€˜Association Psychoanalysis’ commented, β€œThis year we are looking at new formats and new ideas to honestly discuss the real issues at hand. ‘Engaging’ should really be what it says it is: engaging. The audiences in both sessions will have a chance to talk and engage with one another as if they were the speakers. They will have a chance to listen but also to be listened to. The outcomes will include prescriptions to take home and take action. So we are aiming at keeping it all very real.”

Other sessions, which will be included as part of the Putting Meeting Design Into Practice education stream include Storyboarding: Design The Story of Your Event which will take place in the Think Tank from 1-2pm on Tuesday 17th and Improve Event Design By Understanding How Adults Learn At Events which will also take place in the Think Tank on Wednesday 18th from 10-10:30am.

In addition to this, more than 50 technology suppliers will showcase their new products and services in the Technology and Services Zone. This dedicated area of the show floor, which has witnessed rapid growth over the past few years has become the go-to area for event planners who are seeking to source new solutions and access technology and mobile app providers which have the potential to enhance their events.

New and returning technology exhibitors attending the show this year to share their innovative solutions include Destinationbook, Etud Event Technologies, VENTTIA, Glowbl, mediAVentures, Simpl Agency, TapCrowd by etouches, ACS audiovisual solutions, B-Com Event Technologies, Cvent, Inc. and EventMobi.
