Kenya’s Lake Nakuru has been ranked among the world’s most colorful destinations by the National Geographic Travel closely following Christmas Island in Australia.
Located in Kenya’s rift valley in the protected Lake Nakuru National Park, the lake is home to a flamboyance of flamingos during the summer as well as thirteen globally threatened birds that fly down in summer to gather food supplies. Animals living in the savannah, especially rhinos, can also be found by the lake. With the vivid combination of pink from the flamingos, blue from the lake and orange from the blazing Kenyan sunset, its no wonder that this gorgeous landscape is listed as an absolute must see for everyone looking to add a little colour in their life.
