It’s the Chinese that first stated: ‘May you live in interesting times’
Within the business events planning industry there is a resounding element of truth to this statement which unsuspecting potential presenters should heed.A new breed of organisers has surfaced which picks a ‘hot’ or pertinent overall event subject. The programme is fleshed out with high-powered presenters – some invited others merely shown on the programme.
The organiser invites other experts with a certain amount of knowledge on a particular programme topic to present while providing the date, time and venue for the business event.Imperative is that the presenter provides their presentation in both written as well as power-point format. For a variety of reasons the business event is cancelled with due appreciation for the time and effort taken while promising that when the business event is undertaken at a future time – the presenter will be contacted once more.
However there is no intention for re-contacting as the main intention is to have a copy of the contents and ‘sell-on’ to an organisation for an internal presentation with a less knowledgeable presenter. Interesting times indeed!
