Sun City HotelSun City still ranks as one of the best holiday destinations amongst South Africans, with the resort receiving yet another award for Best Holiday Resort, this time as voted for by the readers of Pretoria News. This is the fifth award Sun City has scooped in recent months which have been based on votes from the public.

 

The recent awards, including a readers’ choice award from an Australian family magazine, bear testimony to the intensified focus on reengineering Sun City’s hospitality, food and beverage, and entertainment offerings to deliver greater diversity and value for money.“That South African holiday-makers rate Sun City as the top holiday resort is a great source of pride for us. An ambitious R800-million refurbishment project is currently underway at the resort to revitalise its iconic appeal and ensure that it retains its rightful place as South Africa’s entertainment mecca, and one of the most exciting leisure destinations in the world. Visitors to Sun City over the upcoming festive season and in the coming months will notice the exciting changes which are all part of Sun International’s grand design to keep Sun City at the cusp of leisure experiences.The resort’s four hotels, the entertainment zones as well as food and beverage outlets are being revamped. Over the past few months, various spaces have been transformed to make way for more exciting options. Amongst these are the opening of a new Spur and Ocean Basket at Sun Vacation Club, the new Bocado Mediterranean restaurant which took the place of Santorini at Cascades hotel, Mugg & Bean and Legends grill house at Sun City Hotel, The Brew Money gastro pub and Food Factory inside the Valley of Waves, and Harvest Grill & Wine and Calisto’s Portuguese Restaurant at the Entertainment Centre.

 

The resort boasts a dazzling selection of restaurants, activities and two world class golf courses all situated within one secure and beautiful location. The Valley of Waves is renowned for its wave pool and thrilling water slides, guests can look forward to even more thrills in the waterpark with the newly opened 155m long waterslide. There are also a variety of water sports including jet skiing, parasailing and water skiing, available at Waterworld.
