The vexing issue of definitions continues to confuse all sectors of the MICE industry. One person’s event is another person’s conference hence the accepted generic term of MICE which describes the gathering of people irrespective of the type or size.
Understanding and agreeing the industry’s planner definition is at the forefront going forward is paramount.
In this manner the industry can indeed ‘sing from the same song sheet’.
Words such as ‘professional’ and ‘commissions’ have accepted international dictionary descriptions and individual’s should be cautious of not making-up their own interpretations.
