Popular bake-and-wine pairing festival, Cellarbake@Nitida, enters its third year since inception, earmarking the third weekend in March as the official date for this culinary first in South Africa.
Nitida Wine Farm, nestled amongst the lush rolling hills of the Durbanville Wine Valley, welcomes guests to join in celebration of Human Rights Day on Monday, 21 March 2016, with a decadent mix of delicious baked goods (savoury and sweet) paired with Nitida’s award winning wines and Method Cap Classique.
SA’s leading bakers will be gathering once again to showcase their finest signature bakes paired in perfect harmony with their counterpart cultivars – synchronizing a balance of tastes, terroir and tannins.
The event is taking place at the gorgeous Cassia Restaurant and wedding venue, with an area double the size as previous years to accommodate the influx of fabulous bakers and alternate exhibitors. Pockets of live entertainment and demonstrations are set to accompany the festivities, whilst the little ones may enjoy the outdoor activities, jumping castles, kid’s cake decorating tent and much more.
Picnics by the lake and ample indoor and alfresco dining areas are being catered for guests to relax and truly soak up the Cape Winelands, a mere 20 minute commute from Cape Town; a fantastic day out for the whole family.“We are delighted to be entering our third exciting year of Cellarbake@Nitida. Each year the event gains more momentum and with that the offering is continually benchmarked. Tickets are available through Nutickets at a cost of R150 per person Tickets include entrance, a Cellarbake@Nitida tasting glass and five delicious bake and wine pairing portions. A non-alcoholic option is available at R75 for children and for those who wish to taste only the baked goods. Entrance is free for children under the age of 12 years.
Additional baked goods, as well as a variety of delicious eats, will be available for purchase. Alternate exhibitor products are also available for purchase from the various stalls. For easy transactions an on-site ATM are being integrated.
