Swift action by EXSA Leadership | The Planner

I am pleased to report on swift action taken by the board of the Exhibition & Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA), after the resignation of our chairperson, Neil Nagooroo, as sales and marketing manager of the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC).

As EXSA’s Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI) requires any board member who resigns from his or her full-time position, to also resign from the board, Neil duly resigned as chairperson of our association.

In line with our MOI, after accepting his resignation as chairperson, we co-opted him back on the board and against the background of his excellent performance at EXSA, also back into his position as chairperson.

As a board we are confident that this process was handled smoothly and correctly, without losing any momentum in EXSA’s activities, which, under Neil’s leadership, have gone a long way in addressing the challenges we face, not only as an association, but also as an industry, in the interests of our members.

EXSA looks forward to participate in the first-ever Global Exhibitions Day (#GED16) on 8 June 2016, to be held in South Africa at the Expo Centre in Johannesburg, and to interact with you, our members, on this occasion.
