Mauritius Incentive Connection spotlights local “gems” | The Planner

Mauritius Incentive Connection (MIC), a unique consortium comprising 12 top Mauritian hotels, a production company, Impact Production Group (IPG) and destination management company, Connections DMC, celebrated its fifth anniversary in style, commemorating this milestone by rewarding loyal partners for their support since 2011.

The big winner of the evening, hosted at the palatial Munro Boutique Hotel in Houghton, Johannesburg, was Tourvest Integrated Tourism Group. Tourvest received the award for Best MIC GEM Supporter for 2011 to 2016, with Thandi Mangezi from the company receiving a prize that included an engraved, limited edition single barrel rum – one of only 800 – two business class tickets from Air Mauritius, seven nights of accommodation (distributed across two hotels of choice), return BMW transfers, and a candlelight dinner with fireworks.

Superior Choices and Winning Solutions were named as first and second runners-up in this category respectively.

Says Karl Braunecker, MIC’s founder and CEO of Connections DMC: “MIC is an exclusive product for South Africa and we celebrate our fifth anniversary of success through hard work and determination. We have worked with 7,100 passengers and 70 groups since our inception, with 750 requests for proposals – all thanks to our partners locally who believed in the product and gave us a try.

“Thanks to the Tourist Office and Air Mauritius, our sponsors for the night, for making this event happen.”

Arranged by Divaz Event Management, it was a fantastic night of winning, singing, Bollywood and fire dancing – an out-of-this-world experience for all!
