Event Standards programme confirmed | The Planner

Innovative inputs are set to propel the event management industry into an era of professionalism and better understanding of the client’s expectations to ensure a greater return on investment with each event undertaken.

The morning session of the programme for the ‘Setting Standards in Event Planning’ on the 13th October will unpack the foundation on which the Standards are based.  A bird’s eye-view indicates the clear direction:

  1. Background to Successful Soft Skills Standards

The SA Board of People Practices has a highly successful Standards programme – the details                will be shared for greater understanding of the procedure.

  1. Alternatives to Standards with a Certification Programme

Three certification programmes will be explained these are: CEM   CEMP & CMP.  The facts,              figures and fiction will be shown for participants to make informed decisions.

  1. Challenges with Suppliers in Protecting the Brand

A panel will outline the important of ensuring the client’s brand is portrayed in a favourable light             together with the event’s objectives

  1. How the Standards will Operate

A step-by-step process will assist the industry in understanding the simple method that the                     standards will operate.

  1. Event Safety within the PPS

Each event requires a safety check from a low risk perspective when booking a venue. A simple             Standards undertaking will indicate the ease of PPS use.

  1. Service Level Agreements

A template for agreements with suppliers, services and indeed clients will be explained.

  1. Duty of Care

A subject not often understood – a total explanation will be provided as DoC is the foundation on           which all event planning should be based.

A galaxy of expert presenters will be in conversation with Michael Jackson to ensure an interesting and informative format in order to reach the event’s goals.

Following the luncheon interval – discussion panels will provide their input on the morning session.

All proceedings will be recorded and transcribed.  The outcomes will be distributed to the participants as well as the industry for the PPS to commence.
