AAXO makes final call for ROAR Award entries and ticket purchases | The Planner

The groundbreaking AAXO ROAR Organiser and Exhibitor Awards are looming and, with AAXO having received a substantial volume of entries already, it promises to be a fantastic showcase of the South African Exhibition and Events industry’s talent and skill.

Set to take place on the 26th of January 2017, the AAXO ROAR Awards have been divided into two sections: an exhibitor section and an organiser section. This is particularly significant within a local context as it is the first time that exhibitors enjoy the opportunity to enter their work into a variety of categories and bask in the recognition that they deserve.

With exhibition submissions closing on the 18th of January, this is the final chance for those who still need to enter to make the most of this amazing opportunity.

In line with AAXO’s reputation as being a powerful industry champion in Africa, AAXO specifically set out to include exhibitors in these awards.  Where stands were previously only judged on their design and construction, exhibitors were never even invited to industry awards.

“AAXO fully recognises the immense impact that exhibitors have on the Exhibition and Events industry. That is why we made it our mandate to honour them in our awards,” explains Carol Weaving, AAXO Chairperson. “Without exhibitors there are no stands to build and there won’t be any exhibitions either.”

The overarching goal of the ROAR awards is to create a platform for talented and dedicated industry professionals to enjoy: RESPECT for their participation, OPPORTUNITIES to grow their businesses, acknowledgement for their wonderful ACHIEVEMENTS, while taking RESPONSIBILITY for their safe practice and participation in exhibitions.

The ROAR Award categories range from various trade exhibition categories to various consumer exhibition, Confex and table top categories as well – with a total of 41 awards up for grabs.

To ensure judging takes place to the highest standards, judges for these exciting awards needed to be a unique, talented and highly experienced group of professionals to ensure that judging takes place to the highest standard. This is why the panel of judges consists of distinguished specialists within exhibitions, communication and marketing and have been selected for their years of expertise and commitment to the exhibitions and events industry.

As a joint awards venture, the inaugural ROAR and EXSA-llence Awards is perfectly positioned for two much-anticipated industry award ceremonies to take place under one banner.

“It is not only the local Exhibition and Events industry that will be benefiting from what promises to be a glamorous affair,” explains Amanda Cunningham, AAXO Board member. “The South African Guide Dogs Association will also receive some of the proceeds of the event.”

By promoting participation in the African exhibition and events industry and recognising excellence in exhibition organisation, this prestigious awards event will provide role players who contribute to all aspects of exhibitions and events with a platform to showcase their portfolio of work.
