Emerald Resort and Casino in Vanderbijlpark is hosting the richest motorsport and lifestyle event in Africa over 3 action-packed days, from 28 February to 1 March 2020.

Emerald Speed Fest (ESF) caters for both racing fanatics and motorsport enthusiast. The race prizes total half a million Rand in value, so competition will be fierce across all of the race categories, which include:

Historic Cars

Historic racing is one of the most popular forms of motorsport world-wide, and its popularity is growing. This has resulted in original classic cars being increasingly sought after and valued, and more recreations being built of iconic race cars. Race competitors will complete in three classes within this category.

Road Performance and Supercars

This is the largest class at ESF, and competitors range from 4-cylinder saloon cars to V8 Supercars.

Modified Saloon Cars

This class is for cars that are built specifically to race in this type of motorsport event, and allows for unlimited specials. It is likely that the winner of the Master of the Mile (the fastest recorded time ay ESF) will represent this category.

Sports Cars

Get ready for some of the loudest, fastest and most spectacular cars competing at ESF, with these purpose-built sports cars.

Master of the Mile

All competitors from the various categories can enter the Master of the Mile competition. The winner is determined by the fastest times recorded, and will be awarded the Master of the Mile Trophy and a trip to Caesars Palace Las Vegas!

Participants in this category include Franco Scribante, racing his Nissan R35 GT-R; James Forbes in his ADR MCE3 sports racing car; and Franco Di Matteo racing his Jaguar XKRR.

Other attractions at ESF include the pit area, where visitors can interact with the cars and crew there, as well as a classic car display, a retail area, live music, a beer garden, access to the casino for the adults, and entertainment for the kids – including aquadome, animal kingdom, wall climbing and adventure golf.
