Hygiene protocols in place extend to luggage- and cash-handling; hands-free sanitising stations in all public areas; as well as screens at reception and restaurant counters. Measures also include ongoing training around best practice in hygiene, with guests, visitors and staff required to wear masks at all times and routinely screened for symptoms.

As the demand for business travel picks up, BON Hotel Bloemfontein Central and BON Hotel Empangeni reopened on 1 July; Shishangeni by BON Hotels, situated within the Kruger National Park, is scheduled to reopen from 1 September.
