The Seychelles is reopening its borders today – on Monday, 19 October 2020 – to visitors from the following ten African countries: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Niger, Burundi, Ghana, Rwanda, Botswana, Cote D’Ivoire and Kenya.
Air Seychelles has also announced that it will start operating weekly Saturday flights to Johannesburg from November 2020.
This announcement follows the island nation achieving very low numbers of COVID-19 cases, with no community transmission or deaths associated with the virus.
To ensure the wellbeing of travellers as well as the local people, the country has put in place various protocols. These include a pre-travel application process (find out more here) and other requirements such as having proof of a valid negative COVID-19 PCR test that is done less than 72 hours prior to departure to Seychelles (find out more about this and other requirements here).
