Mauritian vaccination campaign is on track to achieve herd immunity | The Planner

Mauritian authorities have announced that the island nation’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign, which launched on 26 January, is on track to achieve herd immunity. They expect to be able to relax travel restrictions from the end of June 2021.

So far, 117 323 persons receive at least a single dose of the vaccine. This represents 17% of the targeted population (or 700 000 persons).

The country has also confirmed it has secured an adequate supply of vaccines to maintain the current rate of vaccination. All Mauritians and long-term Premium Visa holders can receive the vaccine free of charge.
