At the end of last week, the PCO Alliance Network hosted the Event Safety for Dummies workshop. This took place as a hybrid event on 04 June 2021, and was brought together with the aim of getting the industry event safety ready.

Emceed by Neil Nagooroo, the panel was comprised of members of the PCO Alliance Network as well as representatives from the City of Johannesburg’s JOC. Event organisers, PCOs, event managers, travel agents and venues joined the discussion.

In her opening address, Ellen Oosthuizen, PCO Alliance chairperson commented how important it is for the industry to understand the requirements of bringing together an event that meets all safety protocols.

“We need to know what is expected of all event organisers,” she noted.
