On 17 April 2023, voco The Bank Johannesburg will open a new conference venue on the third floor of Workshop17 The Bank.
It won’t be your traditional classroom-style conference centre. Instead, the new aesthetically designed venue offers a fully-flexible, ergonomic, 173m² indoor space featuring the latest technology and on-site AV. It can be modulated as a cocktail space, conference space or even an intimate space for workshops or masterclasses with lounges and breakaway areas.
The building is mostly powered by renewable energy sources
The new conference offering complements Workshop17’s existing spaces which include a café and working bar, private offices, meeting rooms, members’ lounges, offices and co-working space.
Paul Keursten, Co-Founder and CEO of Workshop17, says, “More and more corporates today are looking for convenience and host their events at multi-functional cross-purpose locations. Besides the exciting opening of our conference space on the third floor, we are currently also revamping the courtyard area to allow for a piano lounge with a fireplace.”
The building is mostly powered by renewable energy sources, derived from a solar farm on the roof, as well as a heat recovery system which reuses the waste heat from the HVAC to heat water for the hotel.
