EXSA – the Exhibition & Event Association Of Southern Africa – is hosting its EXSA-llence Awards next week, on 18 January at CedarWoods of Sandton. The best of the best in the local exhibition industry will be acknowledged and honoured at an ‘Out of Africa’ themed awards evening.
A call for Award nominations and entries
A call for nominations has gone out for the EXSA-llence Awards; nominations must be made by EXSA members, and only for EXSA members’ work.
A new category this year is for the Green Stand Award. It will be assessed by the Event Greening Forum NPO for exhibition stand builders across three categories: small, medium and large exhibition stands. If you have designed and built an exhibition stand in 2022 or 2023 which has sustainable attributes, please consider entering it into this Award. Doing so not only affords you and your client the opportunity to shine, but it helps to promote awareness about the importance of sustainability within the exhibition industry.
The EXSA-llence Awards will also recognise work done in the past two years, across the following categories:
- AV & Production: Delivering Exceptional Services and Products
- Logistics: Delivering Exceptional Service
- Full Service Contractor: Delivering Exceptional Service
- Best Venue: Delivering excellent Service
- Best Organiser 2022
- Best Organiser 2023
- Best Large Event/Expo 2022 (2 or more halls) in following categories:
- Event/Expo Organiser
- Health & Safety
- AV
- Cleaning services
- Infrastructure Suppliers
- Bar Services
- DΓ©cor
- Entertainment
- Logistics
- Any other parties involved must please be included in this category
- Best Small Event/Expo 2023 (1 hall or smaller) in following categories:
- Conference venue
- Event/Expo Organiser
- Health & Safety
- AV
- Cleaning services
- Infrastructure Suppliers
- Bar Services
- DΓ©cor
- Entertainment
- Any other parties involved must please be included in this category
An additional Award is The Hall of Fame, for individuals who have stood out for their contribution to the industry.

The EXSA-llence Awards will be held at 6pm at CedarWoods of Sandton, and will be preceded by a one day conference at the same venue from 8.30am to 3pm. The cost to attend the conference is R700 per person, and the cost to attend the EXSA-llence Awards is R1 000 per person for EXSA members and R1 350 for non-members. All prices are excl. VAT.
