SITE honoured Dragonfly Africa – Johannesburg with a 2014 Crystal Award for most impactful effort towards Corporate Social Responsibility as part of an Incentive Program during the Crystal Awards Ceremony, 15 November at the SITE Global Conference in Rotterdam- Netherlands.
Genband, a global telecommunications innovator, tasked Dragonfly Africa with a dual goal for its President’s Circle 2014 trip to South Africa. The company wanted to reward top employees with an incentive trip that included a CSR element to showcase their commitment to giving and the “Give back to Africa” campaign was created.
Dragonfly Africa identified a local preschool in need, and coordinated the delivery of new shoes to 180 students at an unprecedented event where delegates met the students and hand-delivered the shoes. An important component of the campaign was setting up a program where employees pledged donations to the preschool. Genband matched those donations, allowing a significant contribution. The campaign is on-going and is now a legacy that continues to support the Henna Pre School. Delegates of the Genband President’s Circle felt rewarded for their significant achievements and left South Africa honored to make an on-going difference in children’s lives.
“The Dragonfly Africa Group, incorporating Green Route Africa, is very proud to be the recipient of their 9th SITE Crystal Award,” said Ms. Yolanda Woeke-Jacobs, director of sales and marketing. “We want to thank all our partners and staff who worked so hard to make this event possible. Most importantly we would like to thank our client CWT Meetings and Events, along with the corporate client, Genband. for giving us the opportunity to work with them on this prestigious event.”
