Sun International has won a prestigious international award which recognises excellence in casino marketing. The programme invites submissions from casino companies and the like from across the globe.
Beyond celebrating eye-catching artwork and clever slogans, the Romero Awards acknowledge innovative marketing campaigns that have driven measurable casino revenue, shown return on investment, and enhanced customer experience.
Sun International received a Romero Award in the Direct Marketing Category as well as an Honourable Mention Award in the Promotions for its Million Mania campaign. The Awards they have won will be handed over at a ceremony during the 2015 Casino Marketing and Technology Conference taking place at Rio Las Vegas in July.
To be eligible for a Romero Award, Sun International had to demonstrate that its marketing campaigns were measurable, accountable, within the approved budget, and showed a meaningful increase in revenue. The company also had to detail its strategy and tactics, and prove that the campaigns enhanced its relationship with its customers.
“This is the first time that Sun International has participated in an international awards programme of this calibre. It’s a real honour to be acknowledged given that we were competing with top casino marketers from around the world,” says Madelein Ozok, group general manager: marketing (gaming) at Sun International.
“In South Africa’s highly-regulated gambling sector, companies have to employ a certain amount of ingenuity, creativity and innovation while ensuring full compliance with legislation. At the same time, we have to work within budget limitations and meet strategic marketing goals. Our marketing teams have proved that they can meet all of these objectives and be rated amongst the world’s top casino marketers,” she concludes.
Ozok is attending the 2015 Casino Marketing and Technology Conference in Las Vegas and will be there to accept the Romero Awards on behalf of Sun International at the ceremony on Thursday 16 July 2015.
