Insurance companies continue to stall on business interruption insurance payments to tourism and hospitality businesses, despite these payments being crucial to the survival of many of these businesses and the retention of thousands of jobs. The financial pressure and commercial viability of tourism businesses is being further exacerbated by the current level 4 lockdown measures – they need a resolution to their claims now more than ever.
So what’s the hold-up? Insurance Claims Africa (ICA) will provide an update on claims and share research on the financial position of insurers now, and during the first year of the pandemic. Can they afford payouts, or are they just dragging their heels?
Please join ICA’s Ryan Woolley for an update on this matter, and economist Dr Roelof Botha, who will share the findings of his research. Dr Botha is an independent economist and advisor to the Optimum Investment Group.
