Corporate Traveller has put together an expert travel guide to assist travel managers and bookers in evaluating how and when their clients can safely get back to business and resume travelling.
The guide is the second release Corporate Traveller has put out, as part of a range they are developing to help companies get their travel programmes safely off the ground – grounded in expert advice and support.
The guide addresses four focus areas:
1. Traveller Safety and Wellbeing
Prior to the pandemic, only 16% of companies proactively managed traveller wellbeing. Safety and wellbeing now needs to be a priority for 100% of all companies.
Oz Desai, GM Corporate Traveller (pictured), says, “Travel managers and bookers therefore need to take a ‘people first’ approach to restarting their travel programme. This includes assessing and understanding traveller readiness and sentiment, conducting a duty of care review, and equipping travellers with information and resources to support them.”

2. Travel Policy Updates
A recent survey by Corporate Traveller revealed that the majority of their respondents (1 600 business travel managers, bookers and travellers from around the globe), believe their travel policies need to be updated post-COVID-19. However, 28% of them were unsure about how to do this.
Corporate Traveller promises to help companies optimise their travel policy with a focus on flexibility, health and safety, travel expectations and travel data.
3. Travel Risk
COVID-19 has tested the most robust travel risk management plans, and it is clear that every business needs to have thorough procedures in place.
“A good risk management plan will protect your travellers should they fall ill or get caught out by changing airline, hotel and immigration procedures and restrictions.”
Desai adds: “A good risk management plan will protect your travellers should they fall ill or get caught out by changing airline, hotel and immigration procedures and restrictions. The Corporate Traveller team will help create a robust travel risk management plan.”
4. The Travel Manager’s Checklist
Corporate Traveller has compiled a handy checklist for travel managers.
Desai says: “Booking travel during COVID-19 can be stressful, which is why having the support of a Travel Management Company is a necessity. Our expert team knows your traveller and organisational preferences. Our consultants are also backed by the strength and support of our global networks. This allows us to support your travellers in ways that other TMCs can’t.”
