Hilton Worldwide have announced the appointment of Gregory Thierion as the new regional director of food and beverage operations, Egypt and Levant/ Africa and Indian Ocean.
“We are delighted to welcome Gregory Thierion to our region. He has many years worth of knowledge in the field and has worked across a number of African markets. His level of expertise will be highly valuable in further enhancing our food and beverage offering across our African properties”, said Jan van der Putten, vice president of operations: Africa and Indian Ocean.
Thierion has been part of the Hilton Worldwide team for over 17 years and began his career with Hilton Worldwide in the banqueting department at Hilton Strasbourg in France, where he later became food and beverage manager.
“I am thrilled to be joining the A&IO F&B team and look forward to this new and exciting venture. Working at various properties has allowed me to expand my cultural experiences and learn more about diverse client needs. I hope to impart this experience to my fellow team members, and also, to learn from them and ensure cohesiveness across all food and beverage functions’, said Thierion.
Thierion will be in charge of managing all food and beverage operations in existing and new hotels within the region, evaluate and review new trends in the industry and all competitor analyses. He will also reinforce training and development to ensure team members are kept abreast of relevant industry innovations. He will be based at Hilton Sandton.
Thierion is an alumni of Hospitality College of Strasbourg in France and has worked in events organisation, implementing systems and procedures for sales and budget control.
