The much-anticipated new Food & Hospitality Africa expo promises exceptional value with a jam-packed and trends-driven free to attend Host-ED seminar.
Running throughout the show from 3 to 5 May at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, covering a wide range of topics of interest to exhibition visitors.The Host-ED presentations will be delivered on the exhibition floor on a first-come, first-served basis.

Opening the series of presentations is the DTI’s Road Map for the SA Food & Beverage industry, outlining what the DTI has in store for 2016 and how that will benefit the food, beverage and hospitality industries.Also on 3 May will be insight into SA’s imminent food labelling regulations .
A look on sustainable sourcing and trends in consumer and retailer awareness, the future of healthy eating in South Africa,how hotels are modernising and adapting to today’s travellers’ high expectations for customisation and technology in their hotel rooms; and closing with ‘Top cocktail and mixology trends – geared for Generation Z’, a look at the evolution to sophisticated cocktails that stimulate all the senses.
Day Two, Wednesday 4 May, will give detailed insight into the top ten culinary trends attracting consumer interest on menus and on grocery shelves; an African Economic Outlook at what’s in store for the food, beverage and hospitality industries; the ‘free-from’ category, which is rapidly moving into mainstream consumption; the impact of mobile devices on service excellence in the hospitality industry; innovative packaging developments; and what franchising entails.
The third and final day, Thursday 5 May, will open with SME business advice for the hospitality, food & beverage sectors; a look at the defining factors that exemplify South Africa’s top restaurants; insight into the elements needed to create unique guest experiences in hotels; the essentials of SA import and export standards; creative solutions for the increasingly thrifty manufacturing sector that faces challenges amid load-shedding and water shortages, and closing with ‘Supply chain optimisation for the food, beverage, hospitality, and food service sectors’.
