Reunion Island welcomes MICE, at Meetings Africa | The Planner

Reunion Island is marketing itself as the place “where MICE come to play”, because of its mix of world-class accommodation/eventing facilities, unlimited adventure activity options, gorgeous scenery, and a unique and diverse culture.

Other advantages that the French island offers are that it is only a four-hour flight from Johannesburg, South African passport holders do not require a visa, and it has first-world infrastructure allowing easy access to all major cities from its national highway (which enable visitors to circle the entire island in 6 hours).

Over 42% of the island protected as a UNESCO world heritage site. Called La Reunion National Park, it covers more than 100,000 hectares and all three cirques of the volcanic island.

Adventure tourism is a big drawcard, with activities such as surfing, scuba diving, river rafting, abseiling, canyoning and hiking – offering exciting incentives or business travel add-ons.

And for those who want a more relaxing escape, beautiful beaches, Euro-African gastronomy and a colourful local culture are tempting options.

The Reunion Island Tourism Board will be exhibiting at Meetings Africa 2020. You can visit them at stand F27, and discover every reason to #GoToReunion, between 25 & 26 February at Sandton Convention Centre.
