The glorious magic of Christmas is back at Montecasino with the annual Christmas Village – a celebration of the festive season, with a bountiful array of eats, treats, champagne, craft beer, decorations, ornaments, arts and crafts, handmade toys, crackers, jewellery, clothes, gifts, gingerbread houses, a photographer, and a lot more, all carefully selected to reflect the spirit of the season and guarantee something for everyone in the family. It’s the place to shop for the perfect gift and Christmas décor, taste the best of Christmas fare, and soak up the enchanting sights, sounds, and atmosphere of the ever-popular Village.

The Montecasino Christmas Village, which over four years has earned a reputation for excellent quality goods, stunning displays, and great entertainment all round, takes place from Wednesday 29 November to Sunday 3 December, from 4pm to 9pm on the first two days, from 2pm to 9pm on Friday, from 12 noon to 9pm on Saturday, and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday.

As has become tradition, the Christmas Village will also feature family movie entertainment on the all new big screen in the Piazza, with movies at 6pm every day except Sunday at 4pm – Frozen on Wednesday, Sing on Thursday, Trolls on Friday, Moana on Saturday, and Finding Dory on Sunday. This way the kids can be entertained while mum can enjoy a variety of stalls.

Mike Page, GM of Montecasino, says, “Montecasino prides itself on creating fun and exciting experiences for our customers, but during the Christmas Village, it just lights up with the joy and enchantment of Christmas – and is an experience that many visitors look forward to, year after year. Each year the participating exhibitors seem to get more enthusiastic and creative with their stall displays and products. This year promises to be the best yet, with 58 handpicked businesses showcasing a lovely range of Christmas products and gifting, along with a variety of food stalls.

Page says 17 of the exhibitors have been at the Christmas Village since inception, 16 are first-timers, and the rest have been once or twice before. This year, everyone had to apply to be an exhibitor, even the oldies, and be evaluated by a panel to ensure that the overall offering would be fresh and appealing to all visitors, young and old. The result is a Christmas Village with the greatest variety of stalls yet.

“The Christmas Village is a great opportunity for us to give Gauteng residents a wonderfully authentic Christmas experience – and we look forward to welcoming all our visitors to this delightful event.

Entrance is free to the Christmas Village and all the associated events. For further information on Montecasino, visit www.tsogosun.com/montecasino, join us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/montecasino or follow us on Twitter at @MontecasinoZA.
