Being an event planner is demanding as it is. This becomes more stressful when every event you plan has a different scope in terms of audience, purpose, budget, etc. In order to make it easier for you to plan an event and ensure an event that meets the standards of your client, there are five questions that may seem simple but will definitely determine the foundation of your planning for the event.
1. What is the projected date and location for your event?
As basic as this question may seem, it will definitely help you decrease time spent trying to choose an appropriate date and venue.
2. How many guests will attend the event?
Asking this question will help you get an idea on budget as well as whether or not your client has taken financial elements into consideration when determining the amount of guests.
3. What is your budget per person?
Avoid blanket numbers and instead divide the amount into a per person amount. This allows both event planner as well as client to be aware of what you really have to work with.
4. What are 3 must-have elements for your event?
You cannot expect clients to give you exact must-haves if you do not ask the question. Knowing this answer will help you gain a better grasp on how to utilise your budget, not to mention give you client the event they want.
5. What are 3 things you don’t want at your event?
This question is just as important as the previous question. By asking your client this, you can rule out a wide variety of elements that would have caused disappointment had you not asked this question.
