Together with Kleine Zalze wines, Oude Werf Restaurant in Stellenbosch will be offering the leading lady in your life an indulgent four-course lunch to celebrate Mother’s Day.
With a menu created to showcase the exceptional wines of Kleine Zalze, guests will enjoy a glass of Brut Rose on arrival before embarking on their culinary journey. The four-course menu begins with a choice of pecan nut and caramelised apple salad or a twist on a classic tarte tatin – with cheese, bacon and caramelized onion.
A warming second course takes the form of creamy asparagus soup, served with
smoked salmon trout and truffle oil or a spicy chorizo and tomato chowder with leeks, paprika and garlic.
Guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to main course, with three options on offer. Diners will be able to choose between slow roasted duck leg, served with crusted potato fondant and poached orange segments or a hearty Parmesan-crusted rack of lamb. For those looking for a lighter option, gratinated sole fillets with beurre blanc is sure to be the perfect choice.
There is also a sweet treat for every palate, from a caramelized banana pudding with Swiss meringue and caramel ice cream to a classic Crème Caramel flavoured with Grand Marnier and finally, a decadent baked cheesecake, served with a mixed berry salad and vanilla pod ice cream.
“We wanted to create a special menu that would be a treat for moms across the city, but also be something that the whole family can enjoy. With lighter options such as the pecan nut and apple salad or gratinated sole fillets, accompanied by heartier dishes like slow-roasted duck leg and Parmesan-crusted rack of lamb, we are sure there will be a favourite for everyone in the family to enjoy,” says Executive Chef Albert van der Loo.
The Oude Werf Restaurant Mother’s Day lunch menu costs R295.00pp without Kleine Zalze wines and R380.00pp with accompanying wines.
