1.Do everything you can in Cape Town

Cape Town is one of those amazing cities where you find yourself saying “I could live here!” It’s beautiful, it’s filled with culture and modern living. There is paragliding off Lions Head and Abseilling (rappelling) off Table Mountain. Rent a car and see the Penguins in Simons Town and make sure to visit the famous Cape of Good Hope. If you feel like splurging, make sure to have a meal at the Twelve Apostles. Better yet, stay there! The Twelve Apostles is repeatedly voted as one of Cape Town’s best hotels. It overlooks the sea and each month they have a delicious wine pairing .

2. Durban is cool

Durban, a coastal city in eastern South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province is popularly known for the The Golden Mile beachfront. Refurbished for soccer’s 2010 World Cup, the seafront promenade starts at uShaka Marine World, a huge theme park with an aquarium, and ends by the futuristic Moses Mabhida stadium.Feel the wind whip your face as you watch dolphins and sea turtles swim below. If you time it right, you may be there for the whale migration season! Kids will love also love the Umgeni river bird park– they have 900 birds from 180 species in the park, a free-flight bird show, restaurant and playground.

3. A Safari is at the top of things to do in South Africa

In South Africa you have an excellent chance of spotting the big 5 animals while on safari and so much more.Along the Garden Route there are many private lodges to choose from in particular the Kariega Game Reserve. The River Lodge looks out over the river, where it is surrounded by the reserve and wildlife. The mornings and evenings are spent watching wildlife like Lions, Rhinos, Hippos, Giraffes and elephants.

4.Every tour through Johannesburg stops at Vilakazi street

One of South Africa’s most famous streets, the only one in the world to have housed two Nobel Prize winners has long been a must-see tourist attraction. Now, the Vilakazi Street precinct has become fully visitor-friendly, with public art, memorials and benches picking out its historical sites. At number 8115 is the street’s main attraction – Mandela House, now a museum. Outside the house stands a large metal outline of two bull heads, entitled The Nobel Laureates. So, take a drive out to Orlando West, park your car opposite the hands, and stroll up Vilakazi Street, reading the storyboards along the way. And when you’re done, grab something to drink or a meal at Sakumzi, opposite Mandela House, or at the top of the hill at Nambitha. Drive your car to another parking area on the corner of Moema and Khumalo streets, and cross the road. Take in the messages of the Hector Pieterson Memorial; then walk around the museum next door.
