Fancourt’s appoints Fisani Mncube as F&B manager | The Planner

Fancourt’s new hotel general manager for food and beverage, Fisani Mncube, 34, is no stranger to luxury hospitality brands, having worked at some of South Africa’s top hotels over the past 10 years.

He started his career at Fancourt as senior assistant food and beverage manager in 2008, impressing the management team with his enthusiasm and excellent service before spreading his wings in 2012.  He heads up a team of 120 people and is well qualified and experienced to oversee the food and beverage department of Fancourt’s three restaurants, two luxury hotels, and banqueting division that serves the multi-faceted conference centre.

Mr Mncube launched his career in hospitality in 2002 when he obtained his higher national diploma in hospitality management at the International Hotel School. He first got his foot in the door as restaurant manager at one of the Three Cities Hotel, where he was promoted to assistant food and beverage manager. From there, he quickly climbed the career ladder, working first as banqueting manager at the Sheraton Hotel, then as assistant food and beverage manager within Legacy Hotel Group, and after that at Fancourt.

When the offer came along to take on the challenge of food and beverage manager at the Tsogo Sun Suncoast Hotel & Towers in KwaZulu-Natal, he didn’t hesitate to take this opportunity to grow and learn even more and to hone his management skills. While working here, he raised the standard of the food and beverage offering from four-star to five-star, and was instrumental in the hotel being rated as the only five-star hotel on Durban’s iconic Golden Mile.
