Africa.com is hosting an incredible not-to-be-missed, free-to-attend virtual event this Thursday featuring leading women, including renowned author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and American philanthropist Melinda French Gates.
As we start looking forward to a post-pandemic recovery, the world is rebalancing leadership to deliver more inclusive policies.
In line with this, Africa.com is hosting an event this Thursday, 23 June 2022, titled Equity & Innovation for Africaโs Recovery. The event takes place virtually and features a stellar line-up including Melinda French Gates, the co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the renowned Nigerian-born author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Joined them will be Dr Shivon Byamukama, managing director of Babyl Rwanda, and Dr Corine Karema, former director of the Rwanda National Malaria Control Programme. They will discuss how women can positively impact health, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development, โwhile also highlighting how innovation can remove barriers facing African women and girlsโ, it was noted in an official press release.
The 45-minute panel discussion will be hosted by Africa.com chair and CEO, Teresa Clarke, and moderated by Kenyan media personality, Janet Mbugua. Registration and attendance to the event are free and open to the public here.
